QUICK TIPS:

  • Don't feel guilty. Your child's Deafness is not your fault. Many parents spend a lifetime trying to make up for birthing a Deaf child which leads the families to make wrong choices throughout a child's life. Love your child as is. They will feel it and appreciate it.
  • Never deny your child's deafness. Whether your child is using aids or is implanted your child is Deaf, and will have to face that challenge throughout their lifetime. Talking with them about the unique and even positive attributes of their deafness will help them acclimate and accept their deafness.
