"When there has been so much love and happiness with someone it is natural to be reluctant to close such a wonderful chapter in our lives. Moving forward is rarely accomplished without considerable grief and sadness... and while our sorrow maybe profound, the clouds will clear and the sun will shine on us again." - A quote from the movie THE PRINCE AND ME

Brady Michael Waite
December 12, 1986 - February 14, 2004
Remembered by: Patti Cowell & Denise Beardon
Brady's life was cut short by an accidental shooting last February. Every where he went he left a trail of personal fans, and up until his death he was surrounded by continuous adoring adults and teens who saw the beauty he carried in his spirit. His aunt serves Gate as the Executive Director, and upon his hospitalization, the Deaf Community in Nashville rallied around her to take care of her many responsibilities in her absence. She comments:
"It's amazing to me the pain that occurs with such a loss. I was with Brady as an infant, and I was with him during the 8 days which led up to his death. It's hard to believe I won't see him again this side of heaven, but I do believe he is waiting for me there. Thank you to Patti and Denise for their kind thoughts and donation in honor of his life." |

Maxine Taylor - "Nan"
August 4th, 1911 - January 10th, 2005
Remembered by: Patti Cowell
Mrs. Taylor made a mark on our world with her smile and her bright spirit. Known to her friends and family as "Nan," a name given to her by her grandson, Tommy Matthews, as a child, Mrs. Taylor was full of life and love for her 93 years. Nan was married for 59 years to Tom Taylor and resided in Memphis, TN. She is survived by her daughter, Patti Cowell, a Gate Communications Board Member. Patti joyfully proclaims her adoption stating: "I don't believe there was ever a mother and daughter closer. There is so much to say about my mother, it is difficult to begin to describe her. I have to say, she truly exemplified Proverbs 31. She loved the Lord, she loved other people with the love of Jesus. I have always said, I didn't have to have a sermon for my parents, they lived one."
One of the brightest spots in her twilight years was her great-grandaughter Logan, daughter of Debo and Larry Carson, Memphis Police Officers.
Gate Communications wants to extend our deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Mrs. Taylor, and shout joyfully that we too were her fans, the staff loving every minute we spent with her. |
